Solution: CAD Stuck on ‘Checking License’ and ‘Your License Is Invalid’ Message Appears

Issue:

When launching an Autodesk CAD application, the software becomes unresponsive while checking the license, or displays the following message: “Your license is invalid, please contact your local AutoCAD authorized dealer.”

Cause

This issue can be caused by corrupted software installations, residual files from previous installations, or system-level conflicts, potentially including malware or virus interference.

Resolution

Follow these steps to resolve the issue:

  1. Completely uninstall the Autodesk software using a deepuninstaller tool.
  2. Perform a comprehensive system scan for viruses or malware using a reputable system rescue tool or antivirus software.
    1. Ensure that the scan is configured for a “strong mode” or “deep scan” to thoroughly check for potential threats.
    2. Restart your computer after the scan is complete.
    3. Repeat the system scan with the same thorough settings.
    4. Restart your computer again after the second scan.
  3. Reinstall the Autodesk software.
