Solution: Error 1935 When Installing AutoCAD

Error 1935 during AutoCAD installation can be resolved using the following methods:

Method 1: Modify Registry Value

  1. Open Registry Editor by typing regedit in Windows search and pressing Enter.
  2. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control.
  3. In the right pane, locate RegistrySizeLimit. If it doesn’t exist, right-click Control, select New, then DWORD (32-bit) Value, and name it RegistrySizeLimit.
  4. Double-click RegistrySizeLimit, set Base to Hexadecimal, and Value data to ffffffff.
  5. Alternatively, import a provided .reg file.

Method 2: Configure Windows Modules Installer Service

  1. Open Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc).
  2. Go to the “Services” tab.
  3. Find “Windows Modules Installer” service.
  4. Right-click, select “Properties”, and change “Startup type” to “Manual”.
  5. Right-click the service again and select “Start”.

Method 3: Perform an In-Place Upgrade of Windows

This method addresses AutoCAD installation failures without specific error messages, C++ installation failures (Error 1603), manual C++ redistributable installation showing Error 1935, or “catastrophic failure” messages when enabling .NET 3.5. It repairs system components using the Media Creation Tool without losing personal files or applications.
