Installation Failed: Autodesk Software Error 4000

Issue:

When installing CAD 2023 or other Autodesk software, you encounter Error 4000.

Solution

Follow the methods below to resolve installation Error 4000.

Method 1: Clear Temporary Files (Lower Success Rate)

  1. Press the Win + R keys to open the Run dialog.
  2. Type "%temp%" (without quotes) and press Enter.
  3. In the opened temporary folder window, press Ctrl + A to select all files.
  4. Delete all selected files to clear the temporary cache directory.
  5. Attempt to reinstall CAD 2023.

Method 2: Advanced Cleanup and Reinstallation (Higher Success Rate)

  1. Download the deepuninstaller tool. Open its extensions and click on the “Error 1625” option.
  2. If the previous uninstallation was incomplete, use deepuninstaller to perform a thorough cleanup and uninstallation. After cleaning, remember to restart your computer or manually start the Autodesk services.
  3. Attempt to reinstall the software. If Error 4000 still occurs:
    1. In the deepuninstaller extensions, click on “Install VC++ runtime” and follow the instructions provided.
    2. After completing the C++ installation, click on “Run with system privileges” in the deepuninstaller extensions to proceed with the installation.
