Issue:
Higher versions of Autodesk software require the AdskLicensing service. When attempting to install this service independently, the error “Unknown error executing action” may occur.
Solution
To resolve this issue, follow the steps below:
- Disable all antivirus software and other applications that might interfere with the installation process (e.g., Huorong, McAfee, 360 Total Security, Tencent PC Manager, Master Lu, Kingsoft Antivirus, etc.).
- Click “Fix Specified Folder Permissions” in the extended features.Image Placeholder
- In the dialog box that appears, navigate to the directory
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Autodesk Shared\AdskLicensing, then click “Select Folder.”Image Placeholder - Click “Adsk Service Uninstall” within the extended features.
- After the uninstallation is complete, open the path
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Autodesk Shared\AdskLicensingand delete all its contents. - Then click “Adsk Service Install” in the extended features. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the Adsk service corresponding to your software version.
- Check in the Services console to confirm if the Adsk service is running correctly. If it is not running or not listed as started, proceed to the next step.(The image above shows a normal service status.)
- If the service still does not install correctly, repeat the process of uninstalling the service, deleting the folder contents, and then try installing a different version of the service. Verify its status in the Services console.
- Restart your computer. Then, using the extended features, select “Run as System Administrator” and choose your service installer package to proceed with the installation.
